Overview:

The chair willing to be a leader in basic and theoretical research in vitiligines, through hard work in the field of basic and clinical research to understand the mechanisms and development of the treatment of Vitiligo, localize the technique of melanocyte transplantation in its various forms, and train Saudi doctors and graduate students on scientific research in the field of Vitiligo and Cultivation of Vitiligo. melanocytes by holding various scientific events such as: symposiums, scientific seminars, and workshops

Objectives:

1. Establishing a distinguished research chair at the level of the Middle East for vitiligo research and melanocyte transplantation.

2. Establishment of a vital laboratory.

3. Establishing a laboratory for experimental animals to be used to test the success of melanocyte culture in new ways and by adding pigment-stimulating substances before testing them on humans, as well as to study new drugs that have not been previously tested on humans.

4. Making a clinical study. 

5. Developing oral treatments for Vitiligo, especially immunosuppressive drugs, and determining the appropriate doses.

6. Developed methods of melanocytes in its various ways, such as culture of stimulated (pluripotent) and non-stimulated (non-proliferated.) cells.

7. Develope treatments for difficult-to-respond areas such as extremities, eyelids, lips, joints, etc.

8. Determining the right protocol for Saudi patients with vitiligo for photodynamic therapy (ultraviolet rays) by conducting therapeutic research.

9. Developing a laser treatment for vitiligo (excimer) and determining the appropriate protocol for our patients.

10. Establishing a national registry for vitiligo.10 

11. Training Saudi doctors and graduate students on scientific research in the field of vitiligo and melanocyte transplantation.
