Message from the Dean of the College of Pharmacy for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research

The Deanship of the College for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research supervises the educational, academic, and research processes for graduate students and affiliated units within the college. The deanship, in coordination with relevant authorities inside and outside the university, oversees the college's policy for graduate studies, scientific research, and scholarships, and works on developing it. The deanship also collaborates with the Deanship of Graduate Studies and the college units to oversee the operations of graduate programs in the college.

The Deanship of the College for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research is keen on developing the research strategy and monitoring the college's activities in the field of scientific research, coordinating with the Deanship of Scientific Research at the university, the research center in the college, and other research institutions to provide financial support for research and establish mechanisms for its implementation in the college.

The deanship receives and follows up on department needs from researchers, faculty members, and teaching assistants in various specialties. It also supervises the conditions of the college’s scholars abroad and provides the necessary periodic reports to the Dean of the college about the status of the teaching assistants and those on scholarship.

Activities and Responsibilities of the College's Deanship for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research:

1. Follow up on the college's policy for graduate studies and scholarship and its implementation.
2. Supervise the review and development of admission criteria for graduate programs.
3. Oversee the operations of graduate studies in the college, including examinations and committees.
4. Coordinate with college units in all relevant areas.
5. Chair committees under the deanship and submit reports to the relevant authorities.
6. Supervise the orientation program for graduate students and follow up on its implementation.
7. Oversee the college's activities in the field of scientific research and enhance its capabilities.
8. Supervise the development of the research strategy and its plan, and establish mechanisms for its implementation in the college.
9. Oversee the provision of financial support for research from the university and funding bodies outside the university.
10. Receive and follow up on the needs of departments for researchers, faculty members, and teaching assistants in various specialties.
11. Supervise the monitoring of the conditions of the college’s scholars abroad.
12. Receive applications from graduate students submitted to the Deanship of Graduate Studies and distribute them to the relevant departments in the college.
13. Receive department decisions regarding graduate student applications and send them to the Deanship of Graduate Studies after approval by the College Council.
14. Supervise requests for deferral and withdrawal from study, as well as add/drop processes and denial lists according to the regulations and decisions issued regarding graduate students.
15. Coordinate with the Deanship of Scientific Research at the university, the research center in the college, and other research institutions regarding conducting research and obtaining support for it.
16. Coordinate with the administration for the recruitment of faculty members and researchers at the university regarding the recruitment process.
17. Encourage the establishment of distinguished scientific chairs or centers of research excellence.
18. Provide periodic reports to the Dean of the college on the progress of work in the affiliated units as per their assigned tasks.
19. Supervise the units affiliated with the deanship.
20. Supervise the implementation of any topics related to graduate studies and scientific research assigned to it.
21. Follow up on updating the college website regarding its deanship and the administrative units affiliated with it.
22. Carry out any tasks assigned by the Dean of the college.
